I can't understand how they count the downloaded megabytes! They counted so far 450 Megabytes while I barely downloaded a couple of 20 MBs files to test the connection!!!!

Just a little update in-case someone decides to follow my footsteps one day
I applied to Cyberia, did the paper work and everything and paid the setup fees (Great customer serivce) then I called them 3 days later told them I want my money back because they don't offer unlimited Internet from 11 to 7 and I didn't know that..So they were like a representative will call you later on and one chick did and said that they booked Unlimited ADSL for me although they shouldn't be giving any to submitions from my central 'Hamra'

^ Believe it or not, it rather is more or less 0.59MB/s! I have Cyberia 1MB/s and it works slower than it should... download speed is usually between 15k/s and 50k/s, upload between 8k/s and 28k/s. In one word, that's shite! :/ but still a bit better than what i had before

FYI South Korea is one of the TOP gaming countries. They have a HUGE number of players & they develop a big portion of the industry's games (especially MMO). I am not surprised with the 21 mbps as an average download connection. After playing with some hardcore South Korean players & watching dozens of youtube raids/pvp by them & their friends I bet they will make a revolution & fire the government if the quality of service wasn't good enough.

Did you notice that Lithuania (who got its independence back in 1990) has a connection over 8 mbps of up/down & Lebanon cannot get a decent 512 kbps!

I got a 1Mb DSL connection with Terranet- minus the 'power cuts' in Beirut (and the disconnecting of transferring files) it's acutally much better than the Du connection I had in Dubai... and that was supposed to be a 2Mb connection-

videos, files, uploads are MUCH faster here in Beirut than the "2Mb" rip off I had used for years in Dubai...

only problem? 5gigs down/5gigs up always limits you, and I easily add 4 extra gigs of downloads per month ($10/gig) and the shows I upload for Emirates Airline are 2.4 gigs of upload every 2 months... so yeah I've had to add upload gigs a few times-

otherwise I think Terranet is the best in central Beirut- been using them for 10 years already.... and their customer service hotline is always ready

and this is on a slow day... usually download goes up as 800 mb/s..
limited tho to 60 gigs per month...but who the hell downloads that much so cools!


btw just for some correcting of the misconception we have here, when they say a download of 1 mBIT/s you divide that number by 8 to find out your real download speed which winds up to around 250 on a fast day!

so a 256 kb/s download should be around 32 at the least...

So after almost 3 weeks of waiting they finally arrived to do the installation, already had a SpeedTouch modem, dsl line and Filters so it only took some minutes to get everything done.
I'm ok with their support/staff they're quick, the delay is caused by Ogero, they take time to process ADSL applications.
The Internet speed is meh, not that good, 75% out of the actual deal, i ordered the 128 Kbps up/512 Kbps down package.
