Situation in Iran

Postby Nicktalopia » Sun Jun 21, 2009 7:54 pm

What do you guys think ?
With, against, don't give a shit ?
I'm impressed by the courage of Iranian's, everyone knows the risks you put yourself through when you dare to say no to a regime specially if it's a religious one.
The government has closed down most known ways for people to declare their opinions by blocking sites like facebook, gmail, giving foreign media 24 hours to leave the country, yet the people won't stop.
Ps; Persian chicks are ***** HOT! :redhotevil:

unfortunately it's a power struggle and not a revolution against oppressors.
anyway i wont go further in details since it's not advisable to talk politics in here!

Yeah i know we cant have extreme politics discussion around here but i wanted to discuss the civil rights aspect
They have to be really motivated to wake up go out on the street get hit if they are lucky or shot if they are unlucky, wake up the next day then do it all over again.

I said it once before in another topic, i am a huge fan of revolutions led by people. And i can't wait to see one (or more) in my life! Some governments abuse their power, do unethical and immoral things against their own people that such governments deserve to be brought down, annihilated, destroyed, nuked, whatever you want! People have rights and therefore have the right to get those rights! Like they say in the movies "it will be either the easy way or the hard way". Indeed it takes a lot of guts to stand up and i hope that the Iranians will keep on doing it till they get what they want. The government can block the internet and whatever they want, but never the will of the people!

Indeed :)
The Iranians are the revolutionary type of people once you ignite them they go out of control, specially if there's a wise leader to guide them, i doubt this kaos will be stopped any time soon unless mousawi gets arrested, and i think he will get arrested.

Excellent topic Nick!

The Iranians are indeed a sturdy bunch who make things happen, and that is a very admirable quality in them. Theyre not all Persians though, but they are very hot!

The youths are very impressive, and they are leading the movements. The women are even more awesome, and now Neda is the icon of the movement. For those of you who are dont know her, you should look up the video of her brutal shooting on youtube. It turns out she was only 16 and didnt even vote, but thats the sort of courage these young people are showing, and its really inspiring.

Good words Kamil, im with you fully, i love revolutions (especially against tyrants and oppressors), but im not sure we can call this movement a revolution in the making just yet, its still way too early.

My heart is with the people of Iran right now!!

What's so risky about upsetting religious regimes is that they can easily create a 'Fetwa' which is above any known law and then apply it instantly, the violent way of treating women or men regardless of age can be easily justified by who is behind it, they are giving them 'the treatment' because they represent threat to the person who is really in-charge of Iran when all they want is for their vote to count.
Wish i could be more detailed but gotta respect TH rules. :-#

They deserve to be treated with respect , so if the winning party are sure they won , fair and square , they shouldnt be scared of a re-count , and if i was in their shoes , i would actually support a re-count , to prove to the Iranians and the world , that i won legitimately !! But , since they doing the exact opposite , this puts a question mark on the results of the elections ...

More power to them saraha , they are courageous and brave ... and i hope something good comes out of this mini revolution !! The blood of the people killed in the protests should not go to waste !

I agree Kay, it's still too early but i hope that they will take it to the next level. Even if Mousawi gets arrested i doubt that the Iranians will stop, if that happens they will start demanding his release or something. The ayatollah said that it's impossible to rig 11 million votes (the difference in the results) but imo everything is possible in politics with such people!

The story of Neda Agha Soltan is really heart breaking! I agree with Sam i think that nothing will change! but no one can debate the courage of these Iranians.
