why don't you put a limited time for each topic , or pages like for the posts , because some forum are too long to charge ( 5 min for some ) .
it will be better if you make pages inside each forum or a limit ( days ) for each topic .
Sometimes it is very annoying !

altho we sometimes post in old topics weeks and months later.not bad idea tho about erasing very old ones.
