YEAH, YEAH, YEAH...

i wouldn't put too much thought when it comes to big teams over the confed cup performance...

Spain, Holland have the best teams on paper with Argentina having the best attacking players world wide accompanied as usual with trash defense and questionable goal keeping.

but i never count brazil out, they got the most lucky team in the world.. even in the copa america when argentina were playing orgasmic football with riquelme and older key players at their prime, brazil prevailed somehow with a laughable team.

ok i might not be as knowledgeable as you are when it comes to football.. but to claim that Brazil have the luckiest team in the world is really understatement to a country who undoubtedly delivered the best teams in the history or football and the numbers are the best proof!
love them or hate them, some countries got the best teams when it comes to football and on top of them you got Brazil, Germany, and Italy.. these teams almost always manage to reach high levels in the worldcup and other similar competitions and it's really unfair to claim that they owe it to luck!

Brasil is one of the biggest sources of football talents if not THE biggest. Germany and Italy are richer countries meanwhile Brasilians are poor and most of the national team's players come from very poor families (Kaka' is one of those exceptions, he's from a rich family). The only thing those kids did all their childhood was kicking the ball on the streets, in some garden, on the beach. And they are aware that the only way to come out of poverty is to make money by becoming football players. They end up being discovered by the biggest European clubs and then help their families (examples: Ronaldo, Romario, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Denilson, Bebeto, Jairzinho, etc...).

^ Like Ziad said, a few kickass teams can be formed and after a couple of years in gaining international experience they can smash whoever you want  luck is only complementary.

GREAT WORK DUNGA!! Next objective: the world cup!

Games aren't won thanks solely to attack. Brazil have a terribly bad defense. The only two players that are considered world-class in this defense are Maicon and Alves, the rest either likes to venture too much in attack or doesn't know how to mark his opponent. If the USA didn't run out of steam in the 2nd half, it would have been a very different game. If Brazil were down against a more experienced side, they wouldn't have managed to come back. I would love to see the Brazilians play against a world-class defense. You will say that they played Italy, but they played the worst Italian version. If Lippi reviews his plans and plays the best defensive Italian line (Motta-Cannavaro-Chiellini-Grosso), I truly believe it will be a different story.

Anywho, congrats to the Brazilians, and I hope South Africa will build on this competition to make an upset next year. They certainly have the potential.

I think that any cup with the US making it to the knock up stage by losing 2 games in the group stage and then make it to the final shouldn't be taken seriously
However, I think it was a great opportunity for South Africa to test it's organizing capabilities, and a good lesson for proud Spanish and Italians :)
